Perhaps she's not in hot water after all! After a spokesperson from the West Virginia State Board of Barbers and Cosmetologists claimed Leah Messer-Calvert's hair and makeup salon is "very much illegal," the Teen Mom 2 star's business partner, Leslee Pannell, is coming forward to her defense.
“There is zero truth to the investigation,” she told 'The Ashley.' “Nobody [from the state board] has contacted me.”
The MTV star seemed excited while discussing her new business endeavors on Twitter recently, but because she still has a year-and-a-half to go before she finishes cosmetology school, fans quickly questioned her motives.
“How can you charge people when you have no actual training?” one Twitter follower asked.
But Pannell remains firm that their business — which offers an array of hair and makeup services — is legitimate. The girls from the salon shared a post on Facebook to clarify further.
"We are actual makeup artists. We are legal and we have a business license,” they wrote. “Leah is still in the process of cosmetology school and does not receive payment for any hair she does. She enjoys the practice and is extremely talented. Her role until she graduates is owner. It is her future career path.”
'The Ashley' reported the news.
