Lady Gaga is getting personal with her little monsters.
The 28-year-old singing sensation appeared on ‘The Howard Stern Show’ on Dec. 2 and alleged she was raped when she was 19 — admitting it took her years to recover from the “horrific” trauma.
“I was a shell of my former self at one point. I was not myself. To be fair, I was about 19,” she confessed. “I went to Catholic school and then all this crazy stuff happened and I was going, ‘Oh, is this just the way adults are?’ I was very naïve.”

She said it wasn’t until years after the attack — at the hands of a record producer who was decades older than the then teenager — that Gaga fully came to terms with what happened to her.
“It didn’t affect me as much right after as it did about four or five years later. It hit me so hard,” she explained to the shock jock. “I was so traumatized by it that I was like, ‘Just keep going.’”
Howard asked Gaga what it would be like for her to confront her attacker her today — and her very revealing answer shed light on how awful the incident was.

“I think it would terrify me. It would paralyze me,” Mother Monster explained. “I saw him one time in a store and I was so paralyzed with fear.”

The singer, who has been in a serious relationship with actor Taylor Kinney [see above] for more than three years, added she wasn’t even honest with herself about the incident for several years — and said she stayed mum on the topic because she didn’t want what happened to her to define her as an artist.
“I don’t want to be defined by it. I’ll be damned if somebody’s gonna say that every creatively intelligent thing that I ever did is all boiled down to one d-ckhead who did that to me,” Gaga declared.
“I’m going to take responsibility for all my pain looking beautiful. All the things that I’ve made out of my strife, I did that.”
