"I Couldn’t Be More
Different": Lady Gaga
Compared to Katy Perry
Apologizes for Not
Selling 'A Million
After giving a shocking performance during the SXSW festival, Lady Gaga sat down in front of a live audience on Friday to shock fans yet again—this time by dissing Katy Perry.
During an hour-long keynote speech at the Sheraton Hotel in Austin, TX, Gaga stated, “I don’t know what the f--k all I have to do with Katy Perry.”
"Our music is so completely different. I couldn't be more different, really,” she added. “I really don't fit in pop music in a way, but I came through it and I'd like to think I changed it in some way so you can feel like you don't have to fit into a mold."
In August, Perry’s single Roar was released the same day as Gaga’s Applause fueling comparisons between the two singers.
“We've sold over 2.5 million copies of 'ARTPOP' all over the world,” the 27-year-old star said. “I'm sorry I didn't sell a million records the first week, but I have before!”
Gaga also commented on her performance at the Doritos Bold Stage in which she got puked on by vomit painter Millie Brown while singing Swine.
“It was just exciting to see people talk about performance art on the Internet. We really just did it because we believe in the performance and we believe in what it meant to the song,” Gaga explained.
“I'm not saying vomit is going to change the world. What I'm saying is it's the idea of a moment where it's truly just what we wanted to create and us just respecting each other as artists was enough for the performance to be worth it.”
Let's see if Katy Perry - who replied to Miley Cyrus' tweet about John Mayer - has anything to say about this.
