In a recent interview with Barbara Walters— set to air this Friday— actress Kirstie Alley shockingly admits to falling in love with her Look Who’s Talking co-star John Travolta, despite the fact that she was married to actor Parker Stevenson at the time.
Kirstie plans to write about her emotional affair with the man who she calls “the love of my life” in a new tell-all, The Art of Men, which promises to reveal the secrets of her lovers and men she has known.
“If you read the book you will see why,” she tells In Touch of her admission that John is the love of her life. “It had to evolve, it was a complex relationship, and had to evolve. At every single part of our journey, we were in love with each other but we had to turn it into something else.”
Torn between her husband and the man she wanted, Kirstie admits to In Touch that her situation “was very hard” and “very complex.”
“I was tempted to get a divorce,” she admits. “Then I wanted to do the right thing. But what's really bizarre is his wife is my best friend, and he's my other best friend. You just don't hear about it.”
So how does John’s wife Kelly Preston feel about her pal penning a chapter about her husband of over two decades?
“I said I wanted to write about John in the book and I asked if I had Kelly's blessing and they both said yes,” Kirstie says of confronting the couple. “So I just wrote whatever I wrote. And I think Kelly even knew some of the stuff that's in the book.”
But when it’s all said and done, Kirstie says this will not be the end of her friendship with John and Kelly, claiming that they may even join forces to star in another flick together.
“We always talk about it would love to do another movie,” she says of working together again. “But it will not be Look Who’s Dancing. No more dancing!”
