In a new selfie posted on Instagram, Kim Kardashian paid homage to her “idol,” the late Elizabeth Taylor, by recreating one of her most famous looks—with heavy eye makeup, a towel on her head and her giant rock on her ring finger!
Kim posed by standing in front of the iconic photo, and writing “My Idol” with an emoticon of a diamond ring.
In 2011, before Liz Taylor tragically passed away at the age of 79, Kim got to interview the larger-than-life actress and even recreated her unforgettable Cleopatra look for Harper’s Bazaar; at the time, the reality star teased that she was “six husbands and some big jewels behind.”
Kim has since played catchup—adding another husband and now fiancé, and, of course, a beautiful Lorraine Schwartz stunner from each.
Still, Liz offered Kim some pretty great advice—that we’re sure the future Mrs. Kanye West can relate to.
“I never planned on acquiring a lot of jewels or a lot of husbands,” Liz told Kim. “For me, life happened, just as it does for anyone else. I have been supremely lucky in my life in that I have known great love, and of course, I am the temporary custodian of some incredible and beautiful things. But I have never felt more a live than when I watched my children delight in something, never more alive than when I have watched a great artist perform, and never richer than when I have scored a big check to fight AIDs. Follow your passion, follow your heart, and the things you need will come.”
Shortly after Liz Taylor died, pieces from her iconic and impressive jewelry collection were auctioned through Christie’s New York; at the time, it was reported that Kim bought three jade and diamond bracelets designed by a Taylor and Kardashian favorite, Lorraine Schwartz.
