Kiefer Sutherland will not have to stand trial over allegations that he headbutted fashion designer Jack McCollough in May. The designer accused the 24 star of attacking him for no reason, which resulted in a broken nose, during an event in New York City. Kiefer was originally due to appear in court on July 17 to face charges, but the trial date was pushed back. And now the Manhattan district attorney has dropped the trial because officials consider the accusations too minor to be considered criminal behavior. "We declined to prosecute after a full investigation, that included speaking to the complaining witness, who was quite uncooperative," says the district attorney's spokesperson. That's good news for Kiefer, who was also being investigated by the L.A. City Attorney's office for possible probation violation from his 2007 DUI arrest.
