2013 was not Khloé Kardashian’s year.
In the past 12 months, the reality star has gone through some very traumatic personal experiences—a divorce, fertility issues and more—for the entire world to see. And now she’s opening up about how she’s ready for a fresh start in the new year.
Lamar Odom Slams Daughter Destiny, 15, Over Comments About Khloé Kardashian!
“I love the new year, new beginnings,” she said. “I need a good fresh start; I’m excited for this year to be over with.”
As the 29-year-old reality starlet looks to the future, you can’t really blame her optimism and desire to leave 2013 behind.
Has Khloé Found Love Again?
Still, as she explained to British Cosmopolitan, she doesn’t have any regrets, because “my life has made me who I am at this moment and I’m very happy with who I am.”
Even with her positive disposition, we can’t help but think the cover girl is ready to put these nine “character-building” experiences from 2013 behind her—and forget about them forever!

Everything about Khloé’s marriage to NBA forward Lamar Odom was public—from their whirlwind romance, to their televised nuptials… and ultimately, their demise this year. So it didn’t come as a surprise that TMZ got their hands on this video, which features an allegedly intoxicated Lamar rapping about the girls he’s cheated on Khloé with!

This year saw Khloé’s little sisters—Kendall and Kylie Jenner—shoot to superstardom alongside their maternal siblings. Unfortunately, that means that, like their big sisters, the two teenagers were constantly under fire.
Luckily for Kendall and Kylie, whenever the two came under attack (for things such as racy pictures or alleged underage drinking), Khloé was there to step in and defend the girls to death. While Khloé will always be there for her little sisters, we’re thinking she’s not trying to make a habit of this in 2014!
In late August, Khloé and Lamar’s marital problems took center stage when Lamar was arrested in California for driving under the influence.
At the time, rumors were flying that Lamar had moved out of his home with Khloé, while reports claimed that the NBA star picked up a drug habit. Regardless, the DUI seemed to be the incident that fueled many of Khloé’s problems that dominated headlines in the new year.
Shortly after Khloé and Lamar finalized their divorce, someone asked Destiny Odom—Lamar’s 15-year-old daughter—how she felt about her dad’s split, which the teen expressed excitement over.
As In Touch exclusively reported, Lamar DID come to Khloé’s defense, and tried his best to make his oldest child apologize.
Khloe’s battle with fertility has always been made even more difficult because of her life in the public eye; however, the drama increased tremendously when it was revealed that her older sister, Kim, was expecting her first child.
Her frustrations were shown in an October episode of Keeping Up With the Kardashians, in which Kim took advice from Kourtney, but ignored Khloé—who was essentially saying the same thing! The caused Khloé to snap, telling Kourtney, “You have kids and you think you’re holier than thou, and you and Kim have this connection.”
Just in case seeing her on Keeping Up With the Kardashians wasn’t enough, we got a double dose of Khloé as she hosted The X Factor for one season last year. Earlier this year, however, it was announced that Khloé would not be joining Mario Lopez again.
While official word from momager Kris Jenner said that it was because of her busy schedule, we can’t imagine it’s hard being fired from anything.
This, in and of itself, is heart breaking and torture to my soul. Please, I don't need the extra rumors and BS right now.— Khloé (@khloekardashian) December 18, 2013

On Dec. 13, Khloé officially ended her four-year marriage from Lamar, citing “irreconcilable differences.”
In the days that followed, Khloé posted emotional messages on Twitter—some cryptic, others not so much—as she mourned her romance. While Khloé appeared emotional and distraught on social media, Kris Jenner insisted that her third-born was “staying strong” following the split.
Earlier this year, Khloé and Lamar received some fashion feedback when Khloé stepped out wearing a shirt from their clothing line, Rich Soil. New York State’s governor Andrew Cuomo recognized the emblem on the shirt… because it looked exactly like seal of the New York Department of Agriculture!
The Governor immediately took action against the power couple, stating that they may be violating copyright law! Uh oh—talk about a serious fashion faux-pas!
Some may say that Emimen attacking you in a song in a sign that you’ve made it as a celebrity. Still, we can imagine that Khloé could have lived without the mean line in Em’s song, “Berzerk.”
When the rapper released the first song—the first single off The Marshall Mathers LP 2, we were shocked by the lyrics, “All I know is I fell asleep in and woke up in that Monte Carlo/With the ugly Kardashian/Lamar, oh sorry yo, we done both set the bar low.”
