Nominations for the 65th Primetime Emmy Awards were announced by stars Neil Patrick Harris and Aaron Paul on Thursday morning in Los Angeles. To view the list of nominees, click here.
This year the categories are filled with major contenders and each show, star, writer, director, etc. are deserving of their big nominations! Following the breaking news, stars like Kerry Washington, Sofia Vergara, Jimmy Fallon, and other nominees took to twitter to express their gratitude and excitement over their nominations! 
Kerry Washington was nominated in the Best Actress in a Drama Series category for her portrayal of Olivia Pope in the hit show Scandal. She is one of five African American actresses ever nominated in this category. If Kerry wins, she’ll be the first of the five to take home an award. 

Sofia Vergara is nominated again in the Best Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series category for her role as Gloria Pritchett on Modern Family.

Lena Dunham, the star and showrunner of HBO's Girls, took a break from filming the new season of the show to say thank you for her second Emmy nomination.

Glee's Dot Marie Jones is nominated in the Best Guest Actress in a Comedy Series category for her role as Coach Bieste.

Padma Lakshmi tweeted congrats to her show Top Chef for earning a nomination for Best Reality Show.

Funnyman Jimmy Fallon expressed his gratitude after his talk show Late Night with Jimmy Fallon was nominated for Outstanding Variety, Music, or Comedy Series.

Later in the day, Jimmy released an official statement regarding his nomination.

"Honored to be nominated for an Emmy this morning.  Takes the sting away from being snubbed by the ESPYs last night."

Another Modern Family star, Jesse Tyler Ferguson is nominated in the Best Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series category for his portrayal of Mitchell Pritchett.

After announcing the major Emmy nominations, Aaron Paul discovered he also was nominated in the Best Supporting Actor in a Drama Series category for Breaking Bad.

Scandal received two nominatons for acting. The second went to actor Dan Bucatinsky in the Best Guest Actor in a Drama Series category.

Twitter aside, 30 Rock stars Alec Baldwin and Jane Krakowski are also excited and grateful for their nominations. 

"It's days like this that make me miss 30 Rock. Many thanks to everyone that nominated me," Alec said in a statement.

Jane is equally as thrilled as her co-star. 

“This is such an incredible way to celebrate ‘30 Rock's’ final season.  I can't wait to go to the Emmys with my cast mates and dance like no one’s watching!”

Parks and Recreation star Amy Poehler appreciates her nomination as well.

"“I appreciate the nominations. I love my job. But nice try, guys. I’m not falling for this old trick again.”

So You Think You Can Dance earned 7 Emmy nominations today. Executive Producer Nigel Lythgoe was honored to find out his show had earned so many nominations.

“I am honored to see So You Think You Can Dance recognized with 7 new EMMY nominations.  So You Think You Can Dance has allowed me to share my love of dance, provide opportunities to thousands of aspiring dancers, and inspire millions more to make dance a part of their lives.  We reached out to Congress and launched National Dance Day to encourage children to dance and to get active and healthy in the process.  Since the show premiered in 2005, we have adapted localized versions of it for over 25 nations around the world – a testament to the universal power of dance.  I have a wonderful production team and incredible choreographers.  I am delighted to see the past decade of our contributions to television and culture recognized with these 7 EMMY nominations for So You Think You Can Dance.” 

Host Cat Deeley was also excited to receive a nomination for Outstanding Host in a Reality or Reality-Competition Program.

"I am so honored and excited to be recognized amongst such an incredibly talented group of hosts. It's such a thrill to have the collective efforts of everyone who works so hard on SYTYCD also be recognized by the Television Academy. Great morning!"

Congratulations to all of the nominees! The 65th Primetime Emmy Awards will be held on Sunday, September 22nd at the Nokia Theater in Hollywood. It will be broadcast on CBS and be hosted by none other than Neil Patrick Harris.
