Katy Perry Ignoring
John Mayer’s Text
Messages, Says “F--k
It. I’m Going to Do
What I Want!”
It looks like Katy Perry and John Mayer’s split this time officially ended their on-and-off again relationship as Katy is ready to move on in life.
Earlier this week the 29-year-old singer debuted “slime green” hair in an Instagram pic. A friend of hers now reveals that her new ‘do was more than just a color change for the spring—it was an “outward statement of her freedom.”
"She finally decided, 'f--k it. I'm going to do what I want to do and I don't care what people think,'" a friend of Perry says.
In addition to her new outlook in life, Perry “will not let romance derail her life right now” and has even been ignoring text messages and phone calls from her 36-year-old ex-boyfriend.
"She is happy being single…She thinks that a relationship will complicate things right now," the friend continues.
After calling it quits with Mayer the end of February, Katy’s focus now has been on her music and the Prismatic World Tour that kicks off May 8 in Belfast, Northern Ireland.
"She's looking for something showstopping [for her tour]," the friend adds in an interview with People. "Something that will grab the attention of everyone. She can't focus on that if she's dating someone. Right now, she needs to have a one-track mind, and it can't be about a boyfriend."
Earlier this month, Mayer was spotted with one of Katy’s best friends—Rihanna!
An onlooker told In Touch that the pair was spotted drinking together at the Soho House in West Hollywood.
“John and Rihanna appeared very friendly in a corner of the swanky rooftop club,” the eyewitness tells the mag.
However, there were no “obvious” signs of flirtation, meaning it might have been an attempt on John’s part to get more info on Katy’s latest feelings.
