Model Katie Price revealed Olympic sprinter Oscar Pistorius recently reached out to her by direct message on Twitter — while he was on trial for murdering his girlfriend, Reeva Steenkamp.
The 27-year-old athlete, who was recently sentenced to five years behind bars for culpable homicide, started following the former UK glamour model after she went on the record saying she wouldn’t “judge” him based on what the media was saying about the night his girlfriend died.

“He was direct messaging me during the case. It’s weird, isn’t it?” He was saying, ‘Thanks for the support,’ and stuff,” she told the Daily Mirror.
“Just all general chit-chat. He was the first one to message me. Because I mentioned him in my column, he was referencing that. I wasn’t exactly supporting him, but everyone who goes through a trial will be the only one who knows what really happened. You’re innocent until you’re proven guilty.”
That was the sentiment Katie expressed in a March UK magazine column, in which she wrote, “No matter who you are or where you’re from or what you do, we are all equal when it comes to judicial undertakings… I’m certainly not going to judge Oscar.”
Though he’s currently behind bars — and will be for the next 10 months, at least — the 36-year-old said she’d be eager to meet the convicted Olympian.
“I would interview him,” she told the newspaper. “I would love to.”
