As the mother of eight children, Kate Gosselin has a lot of mouths to feed.
And that’s why, she says, she’s still on TV… not because she’s looking to become famous or come up with new ways to punish her children (you know, in case that whole “giving-them-iPads-just-to-take-them-away thing doesn’t work out).
Just days after her two-part special, Kate Plus Eight: Sextuplets Turn 10 showed Mady, one of her 13-year-old twin daughters, telling her mother she “didn’t want to be part of” the party planning for her younger siblings’ over-the-top birthday special—Kate has fired back about why she’s still on TV.
Because she needs the cash.
“Hear me very clearly,” the reality star stated in an interview with E! News.
“If there was another way to singly support eight children, you would not know this name and I would be on an island, and so would they. You would never hear from us again.”
Of course, this isn’t the case (after all, waiting tables didn’t seem to work out for her estranged husband, Jon)… so set your TiVos and get used to it, because Kate isn’t going anywhere from your TV lineup!
“Having said that, this is a pretty fantastic way to feed my children, keep them in an amazing house, at an amazing school and make memories together,” she continued.
“That’s just my life and cameras are there. So I understand this situation because I landed on TV somehow. This is just part of that. I look at it as work and the kids are with me, they run in and out of the frame, and we go to cool places sometimes.”
To see it for yourself, tune in to TLC on June 26 at 10 PM EST for Part 2 of her return to TV!
