It was a rough night for Justin Bieber on Sunday.

Even though the singer took home three wins at the Billboard Music Awards, the star was booed— and badly— during his acceptance speech for the coveted Milestone Award.

Before he even started his speech, the crowd let out a roar of cheers— and disapproval—when Justin’s name was called for the fan-chosen honor that recognized an artist who’s had success on the billboard charts and made history in the past year.

Billboard.com credited the nominee, saying, "Tireless touring and tweeting with his 36 million Beliebers helped Believe: Acoustic hit the top in 2013 making Bieber the first artist ever to have five No. 1s on the Billboard 200 before age 19."

And Justin took his win as a moment to address all his haters…many in which were apparently in the room.

"I'm 19 years old, I think I'm doing a pretty good job," he said. "And basically, from my heart, I just want to say, it should be about the music. It should be about the craft that I am making. This is not a gimmick, I am an artist and should be taken seriously. All this bull should not be spoken of."

Justin’s speech comes on the heels of his highly-publicized bad behavior, which has landed him in the spotlight over the past few months.

The star has found himself in tons of hot water recently for a string of unfortunate incidents and frowned upon actions: Showing up hours late to a concerts, canceling shows, attacking a paparazzi, underage drinking, Twitter rants, illegal tattooing and more.

On top of being booed, the star was scheduled to sit next to his former flame, Selena Gomez... and it didn't happen. The superstars ended up sitting separately: Bieber with his entourage, and Selena in the neighboring section with her BFF, Taylor Swift.

Better luck next time, Biebs. Check out his entire speech below... and try not to cringe.
