Joy-Anna Duggar’s Wedding Dress: The Sweet Family Tradition She’s Carrying On
The Duggar girls are carrying on the sweetest wedding tradition — and it looks like Joy-Anna Duggar will be next in line!
In a bonus clip from their 19 Kids and Counting spinoff, Jill & Jessa: Counting On, their mother Michelle Duggar explained the special tradition that she started for her daughters that includes their paternal grandmother Mary Duggar.

“This wedding dress is Grandma Duggar’s and she let me wear her wedding dress on my wedding day,” Michelle explained in the clip. “So now, the tradition has been that we’ve given a snippet of Grandma’s and my dress to our girls for them to use in their wedding.”
It’s up to each daughter to come up with a creative way to use the piece of fabric in their own wedding day looks. For Jill Duggar’s 2014 wedding to her husband Derick Dillard, she sewed the snippet into a handkerchief that was stuffed into her bridal bouquet.
Like her older sister, Jessa Duggar also carried some of her mom and grandmother’s wedding dress with her down the aisle to marry her husband Ben Seewald in 2014 — but in the form of a rosette that was featured in her bouquet. For Jinger Duggar’s piece, her wedding dress designer Renee decided to cut a heart out of the material and sew it into the bodice of her dress, in the same spot as her own heart — so that it would be close to her as she wed her husband, former soccer star Jeremy Vuolo last November.

Now, the newly engaged Joy-Anna Duggar, 19, will be carrying on the sweet family tradition. Her boyfriend Austin Forsyth, 23, popped the question in March after only four months of courtship and the bride-to-be gushed over her new fiancé and his sweet proposal.
“We just got engaged! I’m so excited to be engaged to my best friend — Austin made it so romantic, it’s amazing!” she told Us Weekly back in March.
