Things keep on getting messier when it comes to Amanda Stanton and Josh Murray’s breakup.

Shortly after it was revealed that he called the cops on her, he has spoken out about her comments to the media — and has threatened to take legal action against the woman he was once planning to marry.

“I just want Amanda to stop lying about me, stop speaking to the press about me, and for Amanda and her friends to stop trying to cyber bully me,” he said in a statement to E! News. “I haven’t said anything to the press or on social about her because I moved on with my life. I’ve been out of the country enjoying vacation with my family. However, if Amanda or any of her friends and family continue to speak falsehoods, misrepresentations, and defame my name, I will have no choice but to move forward with legal actions as I’ve been advised to do, although I’m really trying not to.”

Amanda has spoken out after a run-in with the cops in mid-March. Josh’s assistant, Hayley Watts, exclusively told In Touch that an officer was there to “keep the peace” as she went to retrieve the car that Josh bought Amanda last fall. Hayley told In Touch that Amanda was given several options — such as taking over monthly payments, or paying Josh back for the vehicle — as well of plenty of time to decide, but Amanda allegedly insisted that she would not return the car without a court order telling her to do so.

While Hayley told In Touch that she cops weren’t called “in any way that would treat [Amanda] like a criminal, or have any charges filed against her,” Amanda has painted a very different story when it comes to the ordeal.

“I was just scared,” the mom-of-two, 26, told E! News. “They gave my kids a sticker. It was just super embarrassing because, you know, the neighbors see cops at your house… It just felt really weird to me because I didn’t even get a text from him or Hayley for that matter. Nobody just said to me, ‘Hey Amanda, can we come grab the keys?’ Nothing.”

Moving forward

Amanda said that she’s taking the breakup well, as our kids from her previous marriage — Kinsley and Charlotte, who were extraordinarily close with Josh.

As for now, Amanda said she’s putting her past behind her.

“This whole breakup has been really, really hard on me and the aftermath has been really hard on me,” she explained. “I’m just trying to focus on my family. I’m working a lot on my blog and I’m writing a book, which is exciting.”

Finding an ally

She added that she spoke to another one of Josh’s famous exes — Andi Dorfman. She joked, “Andi and I chatted a bit. A little bit.”

And well, it doesn’t look like we should expect Josh to be checking out Amanda’s book anytime soon.

“I’m going on with my life and career,” he said. “So I’d rather not focus on continuously speaking to the media or writing books about failed relationships.”
