Josh Duggar Is Coming Back to a TV Near You (EXCLUSIVE)

Nearly two years after his molestation scandal played a major role in TLC’s decision to cancel 19 Kids and Counting, Josh Duggar is returning to the small screen, In Touch has learned.

“Nobody thought TLC would ever allow him on again,” the source tells In Touch exclusively.

Ratings for his younger sisters’ spin-off series, Jill & Jessa: Counting On have begun to slip — so the Duggar family patriarch, Jim Bob, devised a plan to not only save his family’s show (and primary source of income) but also revitalize his disgraced son’s career.

“He spent a month trying to convince TLC that Josh should be back on the show. They finally caved and agreed to let him film an upcoming Counting On webisode where he’ll talk about his joy at learning he’s going to be a father again,” the source explains. If the episode is well-received, “He’ll appear on the next season of Counting On.”

MORE: Josh Duggar Is Still in Treatment

Josh has been largely out of the spotlight since In Touch exclusively revealed that, when he was underage, he confessed to forcibly fondled several of his younger sisters. Shortly thereafter, he went to rehab when it was revealed that he had a secret Ashley Madison account, and was not only addicting to pornography but also cheating on his wife.

“I have been the biggest hypocrite ever. While espousing faith and family values, I have secretly over the last several years been viewing pornography on the Internet and this became a secret addiction and I became unfaithful to my wife,” he said at the time.

He continued, “I am so ashamed of the double life that I have been living and am grieved for the hurt, pain, and disgrace my sin has caused my wife and family, and most of all Jesus and all those who profess faith in Him.”
