Jon Hamm and Amy Poehler have never won Emmys, despite their multiple nominations. But instead of going home and crying, the two hilarious stars and longtime pals came up with a much better plan - they're throwing a special Emmy Awards after-party only for people who don't win!
"The winners get celebrated enough so we thought it was about time that the losers get celebrated," the Mad Men star said about his idea for the party.
The idea for the bash came last year, when both Jon and Amy attended friend Kristen Wiig's Emmys after-party. Kristen had also lost out on an Emmy for her final season of Saturday Night Live.
The friends quickly realized that none of the stars at the party had won that night, and it became a running joke.
"We called it the Losers Lounge because nobody that was there won and it kind of stuck," said Jon. "That was a really fun party."
Both Jon and Amy are up for Emmys this weekend - Jon for his role as Don Draper, and Amy for her role on the hit comedy Parks & Recreation. But will they be banned from the party if one of them finally pulls out a victory?
The Emmy Awards air this Sunday, September 22, at 8 PM on CBS. Neil Patrick Harris is once again handling hosting duties.
