Following the untimely death of James Gandolfini, 51, fellow actor John Travolta, 59, opened up to Good Morning America this morning about his relationship with his She’s So Lovely co-star, and how he vows help to take care of his family.
In the interview, John explained that James was there for he and his wife Kelly Preston after the tragic death of their teenage son Jett.

"James went out of his way to come to Florida and he would not leave Florida until I was OK, or he felt that I would be fine, and after a week, I said, 'Jim, you can really (go), we'll be fine, I've got a lot of support here,'" he said of his late pal. "But the idea that in our profession, someone would go out of their way and not want to leave you until he felt you were OK, that's the kind of soul that James Gandolfini was...So my goal is to make sure his family is OK, 'cause that little boy [Michael], I watched him grow up and the brand-new little girl…we'll just make sure they're taken care of."

The Grease actor and Sopranos star were not only co-workers, but also close friends.
"My father sold tires to his father... And I was his inspiration to get into the business," John admits. "He would see pictures of me on the wall from movies, and then he decided he wanted to be an actor. Who knew we'd end up working together so much."

John and James worked on five films together over the course of their careers, including Lonely Hearts and Taking of Pelham 1 2 3.
"The beautiful thing about Jim (Gandolfini) was that he was a people person first," John says. "He was a beautiful man and I love him very much."
