In an exclusive interview with In Touch, Mark Burton, Jim Carrey’s late girlfriend’s husband, claims the real reason why he is suing Carrey for the wrongful death of his estranged wife, Cathriona White, isn’t for money – but because he “wants the truth” about the actor to come to light.
“There is a mountain of information that shows how Carrey treated Cat like garbage,” Mark exclusively tells In Touch, “and it will all come out.”

Mark shared an emotional letter Cathriona wrote to Jim in which she reveals that after her STD diagnosis, she felt “disrespected, degraded, called a whore, an opportunist, threatened,” as well as “damaged goods.”

Mark claims the letter and texts show Jim is “the ultimate narcissist” who “used his high-priced handlers, ‘fixers’ and attorneys to intimidate her and tell her she would be deported and humiliated in the press if she did not keep quiet.”
“I want the truth to come out. It is important that people begin to see Jim Carrey for what he is: a user of women who couldn’t care less about the way women are treated, and discards them after he is done with them,” he tells In Touch.

However, Jim’s lawyer, Hollywood powerhouse Marty Singer says, “The lawsuit against Jim Carrey is an outlandish shakedown.”
Singer also says that Cathriona stole Jim’s prescriptions, which he obtained legally under an alias to protect his privacy and that Cathriona’s marriage to Mark was a “sham” to keep her in the country.
“[Jim’s] still grieving her death and this lawsuit is just making matters worse,” says an insider.
