Duggar family fans can’t count on Jill Duggar and Derick Dillard anymore! Fans are missing Jill on Season 7 of TLC’s Counting On and it’s all because Derick got himself fired from his job as a cast member on the hit 19 Kids and Counting spin-off. Still, many fans didn’t know why the couple isn’t on the show anymore.

Derick got fired after he repeatedly spewed his controversial views about transgender people on social media — and in turn, said some very mean things about his fellow TLC star, Jazz Jennings. Though Jill wasn’t officially fired, Derick tweeted that he was taking his family off-air. In January, the couple has been left off of a promotional photo that is advertising the upcoming season, which should have tipped fans off.

“30 days until #CountingOn returns!!” read the caption of the photo, which was shared on the Duggar family’s official Facebook page. In the photo, couples Jessa Duggar and Ben Seewald, Joy-Anna Duggar and Austin Forsyth, and Jinger Duggar and Jeremy Vuolo were all featured, but not Jill and Derick.

“The show is NOT the same without you!” said one upset fan in the comments section of a recent photo Jill posted with the kids. “I miss seeing you on the show,” said another. “When are you coming back?” Many of these fans are pissed that Derick ruined the shoe for Jill and her fans. “I’m sorry your husband is a judgemental nincompoop,” said another. “You could do better!” Except she can’t, because Jill and Derick have a covenant marriage which is very hard to leave.

From the beginning, many fans expressed their opinion about Jill and Derick’s absence and many of them felt that it was unfair that they were being punished for their religious beliefs. “Utterly ridiculous that TLC removed Jill [and] Derick everyone is entitled to free speech. We may not agree but still no reason to remove them from the show!!” one fan wrote.

Meanwhile, another commented, “You can believe multiple spouses are fine and get a show on TLC. You can believe it is fine for a boy to live as a girl and have a show on TLC. You CANNOT voice your deeply held beliefs based on Biblical principles and remain on a show on TLC.”

Derick also seemed to agree with his fans that he was unjustly fired because earlier this month, he replied to a fan on Instagram and wrote, “My view is no different than most Americans, but I just mentioned it.” He also went on to claim that he was never paid by TLC and that they should have paid for his son’s birth. We certainly don’t miss him.
