Fans Have Officially Dubbed Jessa Duggar Seewald as the “Mean” Sister

Although the Duggars like to pretend they’re as happy and perfect as The Brady Bunch, when you have so many personalities under one roof, there’s bound to be a few people who don’t gel as well as everyone else — and yes, we’re talking about Jessa Duggar Seewald. Fans have nicknamed her “fundie Regina George,” and her bossiness and controlling behavior have been rubbing fans the wrong way for years.

Her reputation for being the “mean sister” had her younger siblings terrified of her and her no-nonsense demeanor. Jana once admitted in their book, Growing Up Duggar, that Jessa was mean to her as a child because she didn’t want to listen to Jana’s rules (even though Jana was the oldest sister). Even her father, Jim-Bob, admitted that Jessa was a “handful” as a child.

As for current-day Jessa? Well, when she’s not trying to upstage her cousin Amy’s wedding, she’s busy posting long, self-righteous essays on her Facebook and Instagram about how abortion is totes the same as the Holocaust and how her haters are going to burn in hell. How nice. And fans haven’t been pleased with her behavior either. Her reputation as a “mean girl” has made her the least favorite of Duggar fans, who prefer Jinger and Jana.

“Sorry not sorry I really have no toleration for Jessa,” an anonymous commenter wrote. “She’s a mean girl and on the show she tries to hog up most of the conversation and likes everything centered around her. More Jana and less Jessa please.” However, others have defended her reputation and think her personality is refreshing amongst her “squeaky-voiced” sisters. “Jessa has always been a favorite of mine,” someone wrote. “As for her being targeted as being a ‘mean girl’ do people ever think that it could just be her coping mechanism?”
