This weekend, Jessa Duggar will walk down the aisle to exchange vows with her fiancée Ben Seewald and become a married woman! And we, of course, could not be more excited!
So to celebrate the reality star’s big day, we’re doing one of the Duggars’ favorite things… Counting, of course!
To honor five days until the 19 Kids and Counting star says “I do!” we gathered five facts you have to know about their big day!
1. They are avoiding chest-to-chest contact until the honeymoon.
Like sister Jill and her husband Derick Dillard, Jessa and Ben have established their own standards for their relationship, and have refrained from any physical contact thus far.
They didn’t hold hands until he popped the question — and they have only “side-hugged” at this time.
2. They are keeping it “simple.”
In early Septmeber, the future Mrs. Seewald told People she had most of her planning done already — and she even went with the second dress she tried on, as the couple are trying to keep it relatively low-key!
“When you’re planning a wedding, you can make it complicated or make it simple and we are trying to make ours simple,” she said. “There are some things that have to be done right before the wedding, but for the most part, we’re ready.”
3. Don’t expect this bride-to-be to get sloppy at her wedding!
The Duggars think booze is a totally lame — and definitely not a necessary ingredient for a successful party. After accidentally having a sip of spiked punch, Jessa deemed liquor to be “disgusting.”
4. Also, throw away your dreams of Halloween-themed nuptials.
Hey, if we were getting married the day after All Hallows Eve — you best believe it’d be a dress-up party. But we have a feeling that won’t be the case for Jessa and Ben, since the Duggars say magic and witches are “part of a demonic real God wants us to stay away from.”
5. You can kiss a tropical honeymoon goodbye, too.
While Jessa could get her hands on modest, Duggar-approved swimwear, the reality TV family tends to avoid the beach — because “It’s just too hard for the guys to try to keep their eyes averted,” mom Michelle has explained. It's worth noting that Jill and Derick did vacation on the beach in North Carolina...
Ah, so guess we better return those gorgeous beach towels. We’ll stick to something on the registry instead…
Congrats to Ben and Jessa!
