It's official! Jessa Duggar and Ben Seewald are husband and wife. But Ben didn't get to kiss his bride after saying "I do." The couple decided not to follow in sister Jill and her husband Derrick Dillard's footsteps, who shared their first kiss in front of their guests when they tied the knot.
A source told Us Weekly that they wanted their first kiss to special and in private. They waited this long to lock lips, what's another few hours?
Coming from an incredibly religious family, Jessa followed in her parents' strict rules and traditions leading up to the wedding. She was not to be intimate or even be alone with her fiance until they were officially married.
"As far as our kids dating, we believe a lot of times if you're alone with a person, it can create desires that can kind of get stirred up, and you don't have any accountability, and [that] can lead to some hanky panicky," Jessa's father, Jim Bob Duggar explained.
The 19 Kids and Counting star said her vows in front of nearly 1,000 guests at the First Baptist Church in Bentonville, AK. The bride went against tradition slightly, by donning a beige dress instead of white. She wore her .75 carat diamond ring on her finger.
