Jessa Duggar, star of 19 Kids and Counting, has come under fire after her boyfriend Ben Seewald posted a picture of the 21-year-old posing with a machine gun last month.
“My AWESOME girlfriend. #DontmesswithJessa,” he captioned the shot, which appears to be taken in a gun store.
While Ben appears to be an avid supporter of firearms, the pic has triggered a lively debate about guns and gun regulation among the show’s fans.

“Nothing wrong with it? A weapon of destruction?” one commenter wrote.
Another added, “No human needs a machine gun.”
Other commenters were vocal in their support of not only Jessa, but also her right to bare arms.
“Really? Y’all getting mad over a picture! Calling that firearm a weapon of mass destruction! There is absolutely nothing wrong with this at all!”

“We believe it is important for children to learn safety about guns and knives,” he said. “To learn how to use them properly and to learn not to use them to hurt others but to use them as a tool.”
