Fans are speaking out against Teen Mom 2 star Jeremy Calvert after he posted a picture of his daughter, Adalynn, 3, posing with an unloaded gun.
He took to the caption to reassure naysayers that the gun was unloaded and his daughter with Leah Messer was not in any danger — but that didn’t stop fans from chiming in with their opinions.
“She said, ‘Daddy, let’s go hunting and shoot a coyote...’ Lol better watch out boys, she won’t miss. P.S. yes people it’s a gun and it’s also unloaded get over it...” the newly engaged reality star wrote.
Of course, fans didn’t “get over it” that quickly.
“This is deeply troubling. I can’t say I’ve ever commented on a ‘celebrity’s’ post before but this really saddened me. When did childhood stop meaning innocence? Around guns there can be no innocence. I think it’s simply time to unfollow. But for a small child, this has such vast implications. She can’t simply press the unfollow button,” one critic wrote. Another added, “What the f--k Jeremy? I don’t give a s--t that it’s unloaded — treat it like it is loaded! This is giving her the wrong impression of what a firearm is. It’s not a toy! Why don’t you try being a responsible parent for once. Giving gun owners a bad rep.”
Several other commenters praised Jeremy for allowing Addy to get “comfortable” with the gun at such a young age.
