Details on Jennifer Lawrence and Darren Aronofsky’s Split: Why He Ended It (EXCLUSIVE)

In Touch has exclusively learned the reasons behind Jennifer Lawrence and Darren Aronofsky’s split. “Darren [Aronofsky] was the one who pulled the plug on their relationship,” an insider says, adding that the Oscar winner, 27, who had been dating the 48-year-old director for more than a year, is heartbroken. “Jennifer thought she was going to marry Darren.” The insider tells us the two even spoke about spending the rest of their lives together.

But there was one thing the pair, who worked together on this year’s Mother! just couldn’t agree on. “Jennifer eventually wants kids and has been talking about taking a break from Hollywood,” says the insider. But Darren, who is already dad to Henry, 11, with actress Rachel Weisz, 47, wasn’t sure about having more kids.

Last year, In Touch reported that J-Law and her boyfriend were taking a big step — shacking up! “She’s asked him to move into her Beverly Hills mansion,” an insider said at the time, adding that she “feels alone in her 5,500 square-foot pad.”

“Darren is based in NYC and intends to keep his home there, but he loves the idea of living with Jen.” The source also revealed that the actress was thinking about the future. “She wants to get married and start a family. And she thinks Darren is the one.”

Unfortunately, our insider tells us now that even though they “were super compatible, laughed a lot, and respected each other, at the end of the day, they wanted different things.”
