It was revealed last night that Jenelle Evans‘ husband, David Eason, was fired from Teen Mom 2 thanks to his anti-LGBTQ Twitter rant — and fellow members of the MTV franchise are seemingly pleased with the network’s decision to let him go. In an exclusive interview with In Touch, Teen Mom OG grandma Debra Danielsen [mother of Farrah Abraham] shares how she feels about the now-former reality star.

“I heard that they were broken up, so I’m not sure what’s going on there. Then the next thing, they’re back together — it seems quite volatile. Jenelle is so beautiful and she’s so smart. I don’t know why she allows herself to be dragged down into some of these less than attractive situations,” she says. “It’s not good for her or her children, and you really worry about the children, because there are so many stories about that too. It kind of makes me worry about not only Jenelle’s safety, but her children’s’ safety. I think he’s got a real anger. I would be afraid if I were her.”

MTV released a statement on Tuesday night, reading, “David Eason’s personal comments do not reflect the views of MTV. With six weeks left of production on Teen Mom 2, effective immediately, we are ending our relationship with him.” Jenelle has since deleted her Twitter account.

Debra was extremely surprised to see the hateful messages, and admitted they “horrified” her. “[I thought] No. 1, totally disgusting, and No. 2, I would say a good portion of my support system are LGBT. It just pained me. I’ve been around them. I’ve seen things happen over 30-something years, and it just pains me that people still think so crazy like the tweets were. I’m just like, ‘How can this be going on?'” Debra continues. “Especially when you’re in the entertainment world and you have a platform — I mean, what the hell? We’re all human beings. I just felt that it was really a good move on MTV’s part, and good for them. They took a stand and I’m glad.”
