Jay-Z finally broke his week-long silence about the alleged abuse of Rihanna at the hands of her boyfriend Chris Brown, saying everyone has got to have "compassion" for the two. "Here is my take on this ... people look for a sound bite. That’s the nature of what we are into but this is not a sound bite. This is a real situation. Everyone’s gotta have some compassion," the rapper told In Touch Saturday night, on the red carpet at the Two Kings dinner and after-party, which were part of the NBA All Stars weekend. "You know if you can’t have compassion for others ... just imagine it was your mom or sister or someone like that and then think about how we should talk about that."
Jay also opened up about the duo's Grammy morning fight. Jay-Z also said he had not seen Rihanna since the incident, but that everyone should offer their support to the star. "I just think we should all just support her. She is going through a tough time. And you gotta realize she is a young girl as well."
