They say knowledge is power. But everyone’s favorite actor-turned-occasional-academic, James Franco penned an essay in the New York Times explaining that selfies translate to attention and “attention is power.”
And after seeing his latest shot, the “selfie king” must be really freakin’ powerful!
The singer posted (and has since deleted) a sultry mirror pic wearing nothing but boxer briefs, which he happened to pull down—exposing pubic hair and all—with his hands covering his man parts.

“A well-stocked collection of selfies seems to get attention. And attention seems to be the name of the game when it comes to social networking,” he wrote in the Times.
“Attention is power. And if you are someone people are interested in, then the selfie provides something very powerful, from the most privileged perspective possible.”
You know how the 36-year-old used to get attention? By starring in critically acclaimed movies, winning awards, creating box office hits and occasionally attending some of the most prestigious universities in the country.
