“Dear God; Trump next, please! Trump next, please! Trump next, please! Trump next, please! Trump next, please! Trump next, please!” he tweeted, adding a middle finger emoji.

Following a sizable amount of backlash, Charlie has since posted somewhat of an apology to the same social media platform.

"The media's reaction to last night's tweet is inanely emblematic of the panoramic timorousness, draped vastly and wantonly, across any and all expressions of hope or joy, that we now dare to publish or impart," he wrote. Oh, and by the way, I was talking to God, not you."

2016 has not been the greatest year for Hollywood, as we've had to say goodbye to some of our most-beloved stars. Carrie, known for playing Princess Leia in the Star Wars films, sadly passed away at the age of 60 Tuesday Dec. 27 after suffering a heart attack. Her mother, Debbie, passed almost 24 hours later due to heart complications.

Carrie was flying from London to LA when she went into cardiac arrest and reportedly stopped breathing. Paramedics immediately removed her from the flight and the actress was transported to Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center. She died in the hospital four days later.
