Lately, Lamar Odom has been making more headlines because of his marital problems and rumored drug issues than because of his basketball playing. But that could be about to change--Lamar, a free agent, met with the LA Clippers yesterday.
ESPN reported the news that both LA-area teams, the Lakers and the Clippers, had been keeping an eye on Lamar and thinking about signing him. The Clippers' coach, Doc Rivers, admitted that the meeting took place but said there was no contract happening yet.
"I've always had interest in him. I've always liked him," Rivers told ESPN. "The teams he's played on and the coaches who have coached him have always liked him, but honestly it really didn't go much further than that."
When Lamar first met and married his wife Khloé Kardashian, he was playing for the LA Lakers. Later, he was dropped from the team. He played for both the Dallas Mavericks and the LA Clippers but isn't currently attached to any specific team.
Over the past few months, rumors have swirled that Lamar has drug addiction issues. He and Khloé have reportedly been in marriage counseling. However, Khloé has dropped "Odom" from her name on Twitter and Instagram, fueling rumors that they may divorce. Lamar's problems have been hinted at but not seen on this season of the family's hit reality show Keeping Up With the Kardashians.
