Danny Cahill proposed to his wife Darci in 1994, then packed on 60 pounds before they got married a year later — and he just kept gaining. By the time he went to the Biggest Loser ranch in season 8, he weighed 430 pounds. "When I asked her to marry me, I gave up my music to get a real job. When I gave up my music, I gave up on myself, my purpose in life," Danny explains to In Touch. Darci, who says she fell in love with a "rock star," didn't understand his decision, but stood by him when he turned "grumpy and mean" because of his weight, even as she descended into depression and started putting on the pounds, too. But when he came home 239 pounds skinnier, she feared he might leave her! Instead, Danny asked Darci to renew their vows — and because he knows it's her time to shine, he arranged to get her a fitting at David's Bridal in New York City, styled by Biggest Loser season 7 contestant and celebrity stylist Nicole Brewer. In this week's issue, the couple tell In Touch how The Biggest Loser saved their marriage.

Since Danny first left for the ranch, Darci has dropped 70 pounds. "I think she looks amazing. I'm dumbfounded how she's done all of this on her own," Danny tells In Touch. "She lost as much weight as some of the girls on my season!" Though Darci's not quite back at the perfect size 8 she wore at her first wedding - she has another 15 pounds to go - Nicole helped her celebrate her curves. "As the newest member of the David's Bridal style counsel, I will be helping women like Darci find the dress of their dreams," Nicole, who has worked with Beyonce, Mariah Carey, Jada Pinkett-Smith and Nikki Blonsky, tells In Touch. "Of course I have worked with celebrities, but my passion is working with real women and helping them dress for their body type. And I'm also a newlywed. I feel like I relate to her because she lost weight, too. And the best part about David's Bridal is that they have so many different styles and silhouettes that go up to every size."
Darci was looking for something completely different from her first gown. "Then, I took the dress because I was done trying to convince everybody what I wanted, so I let it go," she tells In Touch. "Now, I want something that
makes me feel elegant and sexy at the same time. I want it more fitted. It's your second wedding so you're over the princess-y type feel." Still, she couldn't resist trying on a luxurious ball gown with a sweetheart bodice from the Oleg Cassini Collection exclusively for David's Bridal. Others that she tried included: a taffeta side-draped A-line with ruffled neckline and cascading flowered ruffle from the Galina Collection exclusively for David's Bridal; a charmeuse V-neck halter gown with a beaded embroidered drop waist from the Galina Signature Collection exclusively for David's Bridal; and a form-fitting gown with all-over beaded lace from David's Bridal Collection. Among them, she found the one she'll be wearing down the aisle! "I feel sexy in it. When you're in your 20s you know you're sexy but when you hit 40 you're going, 'Do I still have something to offer here?' " laughs Darci, who even ordered a matching dress for daughter Mary Claire, 8.
The big day is coming in September, so Darci has time to find accessories and plan the location - right now, the couple is deciding between Malibu and Missouri. "I want it to be really intimate and relaxing and a celebration of new beginnings," Darci says. "The Biggest Loser does much more than weight loss. It's a rebirth for our marriage."
