Name at the Oscars
Watch out Adele Nazeem, there’s a seriously talented singer in town, named Idina Menzel, and she can give you a run for your money when it comes to your Oscar-winning tune “Let It Go”—with help from Jimmy Fallon, The Roots and classroom instruments!
In case you missed it, John Travolta introduced Broadway star Idina as “Adele Nazeem” when she took the stage to perform Frozen’s hit song, which went on to win Best Original Song at the 86th Annual Academy Awards.
But she clearly didn’t let the slip-up dampen her spirits!
The 42-year-old was all smiles as she stopped by The Tonight Show and joined Jimmy and his in-house band The Roots for a sing-along sess of “Let It Go” using only classroom instruments (like xylophones, triangles, bongos, etc.) on March 4.
We know the Frozen team is fresh off their Oscar win, but what are the chances this incredible rendition can score an Emmy or something? Is there someone we can call? It’s seriously that good!
This isn’t the first time Jimmy and the Roots Crew have gotten creative with the unusual instruments!
Some of their best classroom-inspired covers include “Blurred Lines” with Robin Thicke, “Call Me Maybe” with Carly Rae Jepsen and “All I Want For Christmas Is You” by Mariah Carey.
Still—“Let It Go” may take the cake! Watch it for yourself:
