In 2002, Paul Walker and Vin Diesel took home the Golden Popcorn at the MTV Movie Awards for best on-screen duo. On Sunday, the late actor and his on-screen-turned-off-screen best friend took home the award again—much to the dismay of another nominee!
Rapper-turned-actor Ice Cube was nominated for the same award, and expressed his disappointment that he and Kevin Hart didn’t win for Ride Along.
“We was robbed,” he told USA Today. “Shame on you, MTV.”
He continued to explain that he felt as though the late actor and Vin, who won for the sixth installment of the Fast & Furious, should’ve been honored prior to Paul’s horrific death in November.
“We had the best chemistry of everybody nominated, for us not to win was crazy,” he added. “We were the best onscreen duo, period. They should have gave it to him before he passed away.”

While some fans of Paul Walker’s have criticized him for calling out the possibility of the “sympathy vote,” he took to Twitter to clarify his stance.
“Re: The sympathy vote: We should honor people before they die. That’s all,” he wrote.

Paul was honored post-humously at the awards, with a touching tribute introduced by his Fast & Furious costar, Jordana Brewster.
But chances are, Ice Cube missed it.
