A Hollywood stuntman named Carlos Lopez tragically died yesterday after trying to jump from a hostel's fourth-floor window on to the balcony of the opposite building, a new report states.
The 25-year-old North Carolina native's career credits include stunt work on several Hollywood hits including The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, the Tina Fey-Amy Poehler comedy The Nest, and HBO TV series Boardwalk Empire.
He was traveling in Portugal with his girlfriend, who witnessed the fatal accident.
"I've never seen as much blood. I woke up with the noise, went to the window and saw the young man lying on the ground, on an interior patio we share with the hostel where it happened," neighbor Natercia Gama told the UK's Mirror.
Local police confirmed to NBC News that Lopez attempted the parkour (a popular, holistic training discipline that includes running, climbing, swinging and jumping off urban objects) stunt around 4:00 am on Oct. 2.
Lopez reportedly had 12 years of martial arts training and was also a second dan black belt in Taekwondo.
