Elizabeth Banks is getting used to her role as a mommy!
The 38-year-old actress and her hubby Max Handelman have just welcomed her second child via surrogate— a baby boy named Magnus Mitchell Handelman.
The Hunger Games star took to her official website this morning to reveal the news of Magnus' arrival.
"As 2012 winds down and Thanksgiving approaches, I have much for which to be thankful,” she says to her fans. “However, nothing can match the joy and excitement my husband and I felt when we recently welcomed our second baby boy, Magnus Mitchell Handelman."
The pair already have a 1-year-old son Felix, whom the star refers to as her “baby gypsy.” The tot has accompanied his jet-setting mom to Fashion Week in Paris, New York and other hot spots around the globe. Perhaps Magnus will follow suit, since the brothers already have one thing in common.
“Like Felix, Magnus was born via gestational surrogate,” the star admits. “This experience has exceeded all expectations, taught us a great deal about generosity and gratitude, and established a relationship that will last a lifetime. I am also so very thankful to our family and friends for their support throughout this process, as well as the Center for Surrogate Parenting for helping make all this possible.”
The famous mother will continue to juggle her career and her kids as usual, but for now, she’s focusing on her mommy duties.
“I now turn my attention to managing two boys under two,” she quips. “For which I am thankful. And all their poop. For which I am less thankful. Wish me luck."
Congratulations on the new addition! We can't wait to meet him.
