When false reports claiming Hugh Hefner was dead began trending on Twitter last month, his ex-girlfriend Kendra Wilkinson was one of thousands tricked on social media.
"Of course, I believed the first thing I saw on Twitter, which you shouldn't do, that I did, and I freaked out," the mother-of-two told E!. "It really took a toll on my heart."
The 31-year-old blonde beauty revealed she called the Playboy Mansion, where she lived for six seasons while filming The Girls Next Door with fellow bunnies Holly Madison and Bridget Marquardt, and was relieved to find out he was alive and well.
"They didn't even hear the rumor," she added.

Kendra, who is now married to former NFL star Hank Baskett III, also gave fans an update on the 90-year-old lady's man today.
"I saw him a couple of months ago and actually, it impressed me," she said of his longevity. "You live your life honest, happy, free, you live a long life.
She did get teary-eyed, however, when asked where she would be if she had never met the Playboy founder — and called him her mentor.
"Honestly, trapped," she replied. "I wanted to find my freedom being a woman. I was a stripper at the time, before I came to the mansion... It made sense that Hef called me that day. It all came together, it was like my destiny to go to the Playboy mansion."
Kendra is also a mom to seven-year-old son Hank, and two-year-old daughter Alijah, — and hopes to instill her free spirit in her kids.
"You know, I’m a free spirit: I walk around naked – they’re going to eventually run across [me],” she said. “So I’m going to teach free spirit stuff to my kids. I want to make sure they know that like, you know, ‘To each their own.’ If they’re not harming someone, if you’re not doing any harm to yourself, be the person that you want to be, do what you want to do and be true to yourself.”
