What do Honey Boo Boo, Wendy Williams and DJ Pauly D have in common?
They’re all wearing purple today for GLAAD Spirit Day! The stars are standing up against bullying and showing support for young LGBT people by putting on a united front and wearing purple for the cause.
"We've always supported gay people, even long before the show started," Honey Boo Boo’s mom June said. "We didn't just do it because we have the show. Some people are kind of scared—what you'd call homophobes—but everyone knew Sugar Bear had a gay brother. It's not a big deal."
Though the child star's Uncle Poodle is openly homosexual, the redneck clan we all know and love aren’t the only ones standing up for the LGBT community.
Tons of Hollywood stars including Kristin Cavallari, George Takai, Snooki, Dianna Agron and many more will support the cause by donning purple today.
“By going purple for Spirit Day, millions of Americans are helping to send a clear message that no one should be bullied simply because of who they are,” said GLAAD President Herndon Graddick.
“Ain’t nothing wrong with bein’ a little gay,” Honey Boo Boo child admits. “Everybody’s a little gay!”
