The good news is that Gwyneth Paltrow accepted the Food Stamp Challenge and agreed to live on $29 for seven days. The bad news is that she failed and only made it through four days before caving.

After giving herself a "C-" on her website GOOP, Gwyneth revealed that it was much harder than she thought to live like 47 million Americans do on a daily basis.

The 42-year-old made it through most of the week by creating budget-conscious meals such as black bean taquitos, black bean cakes with grilled corn salsa, and brown rice, kale and roasted sweet potato sautée with poached eggs.

Although the food in the images below looks delicious, it was only a matter of time before Gwynnie gave in, needing her chicken, fresh vegetables and the oh-so-necessary half a bag of black licorice.

Though she didn't make it through the entire week, the mother-of-two did take away a good message. On her blog, she shared, "After this week, I am even more grateful that I am able to provide high-quality food for my kids. Let's all do what we can to make this a basic human right and not a privilege."
