Jeremy Miller opened up about his painful past on the Oprah documentary series Where Are They Now?.
The 39-year-old former child star — who played Ben Seaver on the hit show Growing Pains — talked about abusing alcohol at the age of four.
“My grandparents used to throw a lot of parties, and I would run around after the parties and finish all the empty beers,” the actor said. “So that was my first experience.”

Though Jeremy started drinking as a child, it wasn’t until he was 12 that he seriously started to get “hammered.”
The actor recalled the moment he hit rock bottom and the “lack of judgment” alcohol gave him, saying, “It’s a very good thing that I never owned a gun, because I don’t know what would have happened — and that’s scary.”
