Jane Lynch and her wife, Dr. Lara Embry, are putting an end to their marriage.
The Glee actress, 52, has revealed that she and Lara, 44, have decided to divorce after three years of marriage.
“This has been a difficult decision for us as we care very deeply about one another,” Jane said in a statement. “We ask for privacy as we deal with this family matter.”
The pair met in 2009, and wed one year later in Massachusetts, where same sex marriage is legal.

“I shouldn’t say this, but I’d never dated anyone that I wanted to marry,” Jane said in 2010. “I didn’t think it was going to be out there for me. But the minute we were married, I felt the difference: I felt like I am no longer alone.”
Jane became a stepmother to Lara’s daughter, Haden, from a former relationship when they married.
“I took her to school. I picked her up. I went to lunch with her. So I kind of had a test run,” said about her relationship with the young girl. “We’re pretty darn good together.”
Yesterday, Jane— who is currently starring in Annie on Broadway— stepped out on the red carpet solo for the Tony Awards.
