More than a year after coming out as a lesbian, Charice Pempengco is opening up about her sexuality and her gender identity.
The former Glee actress sat down with Oprah Winfrey for an episode of Where Are They Now, and she candidly discussed everything from her dramatic change of appearance to the moment she first knew she was attracted to women.

“I knew when I was 5,” the 22-year-old tells Oprah in a clip for the upcoming episode.
“I was in grade school and I saw this girl and I felt different. I didn’t know what it was but I just knew that time, like it felt special. And when I was 10 I was like, ‘Oh, that’s it. I’m gay.’ I found the word.”
Before publicly coming out last year, Charice made headlines when she debuted a significantly different style — with shorter hair and more masculine clothing — which prompted Oprah to ask if she was “thinking about transitioning to become a man.”
“Not exactly transitioning to a male, but basically my soul is like male,” the Filipino star said revealed.
“But I’m not going to go through that stage where I’m going to change everything — not change my body. I would change, like this look: Cut my hair and wear boy clothes and everything, but that’s all.”
