Glee's Mark Salling’s
Without Cory Monteith
Just one month after the death Cory Monteith, and shortly after the first week of production on the hit TV show’s new season began, his former Glee co-star and friend, Mark Salling emerged to celebrate an early 31st birthday party at AV in Hollywood on Friday night.
“He came with a close group of friends at around 11:30 p.m. and was greeted with sparklers when he walked in,” an insider tells In Touch. “He had a good time celebrating with friends, including 90210's Ryan Rottman.”
Despite the celebration, the room felt a little bit empty.
“Cory 's presence was definitely missed. Cory never missed one of his birthday parties. They were extremely close. It was definitely bittersweet for Mark,” adds the source.
It’s no surprise how badly Cory is missed among the cast of Glee. Just last night, his former girlfriend, Lea Michele, gave a heartfelt speech when accepting a Teen Choice Award for Choice TV actress, dedicating her win to him.
"I wanted to dedicate this award to Cory, for all you out there that loved and admired Cory as much as I did. I promise that with your love, we're going to get through this together,” she said tearfully. "He was very special to me and also to the world and we were very lucky to witness his incredible talent.”
Reportedly, the third episode will write Cory’s character, Finn out of the show. That episode will deal directly with the incidents involved with his passing and the drug abuse in particular.
