Excited, emotional, anxious. Jenny McCarthy was a lot of things leading up to her Aug. 31 wedding to Donnie Wahlberg, but a Bridezilla wasn’t one of them. “I could get married in Kentucky Fried Chicken,” she joked in July. “I don’t care as long as the heart is in the ceremony.”
And it was. Surrounded by red roses (and no fried chicken!), the former View co-host, 41, said “I do” to the Blue Bloods star in an intimate, candlelit ceremony at the historic Hotel Baker in St. Charles, Illinois, an hour outside the bride’s hometown of Chicago. It was the second marriage for both, but it felt like the first. “They looked so in love,” says an insider. “It was so romantic.”
While the bride and groom, 45, snuck kisses throughout the evening, their 80 guests — including Donnie’s New Kids on the Block bandmates (and groomsmen!) Joey McIntyre, Jordan Knight, Danny Wood and Jonathan Knight— feasted on sushi, steak, salads and free flowing champagne.
Donnie’s younger brother, Mark, 43, missed the ceremony (which was filmed for the family’s A&E reality series, Wahlburgers), but tweeted warm wishes. “The whole night was perfect,” says the source. “Everyone had an amazing time. It’s exactly what Jenny and Donnie wanted.”
“I came to this wedding single, but I swear I am leaving [with] a Wahlberg,” Jenny’s former View co-star Sherri Shepherd tweeted before the ceremony.
