“I suffered multiple stress fractures in my feet,” Suzanne Mendonca, who was on the show’s second season, explains. “I was diagnosed during filming, and the producers and trainers said, ‘You still need to work out. Do the elliptical, do the bike.’ They made me reshoot a running scene.”
Suzanne went on the show weighing 229 pounds and lost 90 pounds — and alleges she did so through dangerous means.

“I was eating baby food,” she confesses. “I’d wrap myself in garbage bags to sweat. We’d use the sauna for six hours a day. We stopped eating and drinking and would work out for four hours a day. People were passing out in the doctor’s office.”
She adds, “A lot of ‘Losers’ probably won’t say this — but we have all suffered.”

Season 11’s Rulon Gardner, who ultimately walked away from the show, is one of the ‘Losers’ willing to admit it. He says Suzanne’s experience wasn’t isolated, adding the weigh-ins and challenges are rigged.
He explains, “They said, ‘If you don’t work out, you’ll lose, so you need to get up or go home.’”

Both Suzanne and Rulon are in contact with other “survivors” of the show, and she says the most scandalous secret is that everyone — including herself — has gained weight.
“NBC never does a reunion,” she tells the ‘New York Post.’ “Why? Because we’re all fat again!”
