Former American Idol hopeful Alexis Cohen was killed during the early morning hours of July 25, from a possible hit and run. The Allentown, Pa., native was discovered lying unconscious on a street in Seaside Heights, N.J. According to Deputy Chief Michael Mohel of the Ocean County Prosecutor's Office, her car was located in a parking lot about 300 yards away from her body. "There was evidence that her body was impacted by a vehicle," says Mohel, after an autopsy revealed that Alexis had suffered multiple traumatic chest and abdominal injuries, as well as a closed head injury. The next day, Daniel Bark of Toms River, N.J., was arrested on charges of reckless driving and leaving the scene of a crime. He is currently in jail, and bail was set at $35,000. He faces up 15 years in jail, if convicted.
