Kelly Clarkson, Carrie Underwood and Jordin Sparks may have gone on to become familiar names in music, but what about the rest of the 'American Idol' winners? Find out what other champs of seasons past have been up to!
Since 'American Idol,' this R&B and gospel singer has released six studio albums, including the hits “Flying Without Wings” and “Change Me.” He's even earned a Grammy nomination for his song “Superstar.” Though primarily focused on music, Ruben has dabbled in acting, and even appeared on season 15 of the 'Biggest Loser.'
While Fantasia may not be as well known in mainstream music as Kelly, Carrie or Jordin, she's certainly still a force to be reckoned with. In 2012, she was ranked 32 out of 100 for the 'Greatest Women in Music' by VH1, and has received three Grammy nominations to date, winning one.
Since 'Idol,’ Taylor has performed in Broadway musicals, released three albums and even opened up a restaurant in Birmingham, Ala. In 2009, he was named number 10 in 'Forbes'’ list of 'Top 10 Earning American Idol Stars.’
This rock musician broke several 'Billboard' records when he made his debut, post-‘Idol.’ In fact, he had 11 singles debut simultaneously in the 'Hot 100,' beating out the record previously set by Miley Cyrus. David is currently set to release his fourth studio album, and has collaborated with some major industry heavyweights.
Kris has released three albums since 'American Idol,’ including his hit single “Live Like You're Dying.” In 2010, he opened for several big name acts on tour — the likes of Maroon 5 and Keith Urban.
Lee has released several albums to date, though none match the success of his fellow 'Idol' alums. He has collaborated with charities like 'The Heart Foundation,’ and has had his music featured in hit TV shows like 'The Walking Dead'.
This country music singer is one of the few 'Idol' alums to have had a number one album — a feat that he achieved through the release of his first studio album. Since then, he's experienced success as a country artist, following in the footsteps of Carrie Underwood.
Phillip's 'Idol' coronation song “Home” was the best-selling coronation song of all time, and has been used in various commercials, film trailers and TV shows. He has also released two studio albums, and has toured as an opening act for Matchbox Twenty and John Mayer.
Candice's debut album, 'Music Speaks,' dropped soon after her 'Idol' win, spawning the single “I Am Beautiful.” She is currently working on her second studio album, of which she is doing all the writing for.
After his 'Idol' win, Caleb recorded his debut album, 'Testify,' in just three short weeks, and released it soon afterwards. Prior to competing, Caleb was the lead singer of the band Rock Bottom.
