After earning more than $29 million in the past year, Nicki Minaj was the only female artist named to Forbes’ Cash Kings, an annual list of hip-hop’s top earners.
Nicki settled into fourth place, placing her higher than Kanye West, Eminem and Lil Wayne.

Diddy, Jay Z and Dr. Dre topped the list with $50, $43 and $40 million, respectively.
Nicki’s American Idol gig, coupled with her endorsement deals from MAC, OPI and Pepsi helped the “Superbass” singer double her paycheck from last year and secure the spot as top earning female.

That said, her attitude definitely helped as well.
“I’m never been afraid to walk into the boy’s club,” she told Forbes. “Ever, ever, ever, ever.”

That positive, can-do attitude may have been inspired by Nicki’s childhood struggles, having to see her parents fight constantly.
“I've always had this female-empowerment thing in the back of my mind - because I wanted my mother to be stronger, and she couldn't be,” she told Details magazine.
