‘Flip or Flop’ Divorce: What Went Wrong for Christina and Tarek El Moussa — “Tarek Has a Lot of Anger Issues” (EXCLUSIVE)

Tarek and Christina El Moussa were far from the perfect couple they pretended to be on their HGTV reality show, Flip or Flop. And shortly after In Touch revealed that Tarek was known to be verbally abusive to his wife, a source close to the couple reveals that things were even worse than they may have appeared — even long before he filed for divorce.

“In the early days of filming Flip or Flop, Christina ignored Tarek and looked down at her phone when he tormented her. But when they started fighting more in 2016, she was no longer tolerating him and kept her distance,” the source says.

Things took a turn for the worse last summer — and that’s when Tarek attempted to clean up his act.

“One day, Christina yelled at Tarek about a bill that was mailed to their home. She questioned him about the $40,000 in expenses for some type of treatment and she told him, ‘You’re crazy. $40,000?’ She was visibly upset with him that he was spending that much money,” the source tells In Touch exclusively. “Christina was mad because Tarek was very dismissive about it and brushed it off.”

After that, he claimed to be a “changed man” on the set of the show while filming season 6 — telling people he gave up alcohol and cigarettes and had taken on yoga, but his efforts came too little too late for his wife.

“It was clear to everyone on the show that Christina was already over him,” the source says. “There was a lot of tension. On lunch breaks whenever there was downtime on set, Christina sat in her car to get away from Tarek. He constantly pestered her.”

The source adds, “I think Tarek has a lot of anger issues.”
