‘Flip or Flop’ Divorce: Christina El Moussa Moves Forward With Plans for Her Own Spinoff (EXCLUSIVE)

Christina El Moussa is already moving on — not only personally, but also professionally!

Shortly after her husband, Tarek El Moussa, filed for divorce, HGTV warned the Flip or Flop stars to cooperate — or risk the possibility of being sued for breach of contract. And now In Touch has learned that the mother-of-two has been fully cooperative because of her desires to have her own spinoff.

“She has been talking to HGTV about her own series without him,” a source close to the El Moussas tells In Touch, exclusively. “She told the network she wants a younger, sexier, better-looking costar.”

EXCLUSIVE: ‘Flip or Flop’ Divorce: Christina El Moussa Won’t Deny Tarek El Moussa Treated Her Like Garbage

As In Touch previously revealed, she didn’t deny that she had her heart set on her own series. During a Jan. 14 appearance at one of her Success Path seminars, the 33-year-old was asked about her own series and demurred, “I don’t know. I’ve got so many things going on. I’m working on so much already.”

Christina is seemingly already convinced that she can be a much bigger star on her own than she ever was with her now-estranged husband.

“She not only told Tarek that she would start her own design show, but she fancies herself a single version of Joanna Gaines, one of HGTV’s biggest stars thanks to Fixer Upper, her show with husband Chip,” an insider close to the couple tells In Touch exclusively. “Christina has told Tarek many times that she didn’t really ever need him.”

If HGTV could have their way, the El Moussas would work out their differences — at least to save face for the network.

“This is getting really ugly,” a source with the network previously told In Touch. “HGTV is livid with Tarek and Christina. Flip or Flop just won’t be the same if they’re not together, so execs desperately want them to reunite to save the show. If they can’t do that, the network wants them to make it seem like they’re getting along, at least until their contract is over. They were given an ultimatum: Either finish out your contracts or we’ll take you to court [for breach of contract]. The network basically said, ‘You guys need to work together, be seen together as a family, walk down the street together.’”
