‘Flip or Flop’ Star Christina El Moussa Responds After Tarek Makes Insensitive Joke About Their Messy Split
She’s not putting up with him anymore!
Christina El Moussa proved that she doesn’t have time to deal with her estranged husband’s abrasive sense of humor. She hit back on Instagram after Tarek made a crude joke about a gun incident that happened after an explosive argument between them last May — which resulted in a 911 domestic call.
“No time for bullsh– when you’re building an empire,” read a text post that Christina shared on her page, and she wrote, “True that…only surround yourself with the best,” in the caption.

Many fans believe that the 33-year-old posted the message in response to Tarek’s photo on Instagram Stories — which has since been deleted. But in the post, he stood underneath a sign that read, “No guns, weapons of any type.” The 35-year-old pointed up at it in the shot, then add “or helicopters” and tagged Christina, along with a middle finger emoji — which was his way basically saying that the incident between them last spring was blown out of proportion.
But the incident did involve a gun and helicopters, according to a police report previously obtained by In Touch. After Tarek caught Christina texting her now ex-boyfriend Gary Anderson, he packed the firearm in his bag and headed off towards some hiking trails at the Chino Hills State Park near the former couple’s home.
Officers from the Orange County Sheriff’s Department searched the park via helicopter and found Tarek. He told officers at the time that he did not intend on hurting himself and he just wanted to go on a hike to “blow off some steam.”
But even though they had a really messy split, it seems like Tarek and Christina are in a much better place now than they were a year ago — so much that they’ve even been able to rekindle their professional relationship. Sources revealed to Life & Style that they’ve already started filming Season 7 of their popular HGTV series.
“Christina realized she and Tarek are stronger overall as a unit,” the insider revealed. “But Tarek still better be on his best behavior, on and off set.”
